Welcome to the New York & New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council’s 2013 Business Opportunity Expo!

This year marks The Council’s 40th anniversary. For 40 years, The Council has been at the forefront in creating business relationships between corporate America and leading minority businesses in New York and New Jersey.

The Expo’s theme, The Minority-Majority: A New Value Proposition, explores the impact of a multicultural America on minority business development. It reflects the changing demographics in America and the influence this population on the consumer marketplace.

The two day event kicks off on June 19 with afternoon workshops, seminars and an evening reception. On June 20, the highlights include match-maker sessions, a welcome breakfast, an awards luncheon and a full day of the popular trade fair, which features networking with some of America’s top corporations and minority businesses. At the Sponsors Luncheon, special awards will be presented to select minority businesses and corporate members for successful, innovative partnerships.

Some of the nation’s leading corporate diversity strategists will be speaking at the Expo. The keynote speaker at the Sponsor’s Luncheon on June 20 will be Cheryl Pearson-McNeil, senior vice president of Public Affairs and Government Relations at The Nielsen Company, which studies consumers in over 100 countries to view trends and habits worldwide.

Join leading Fortune 500 companies and New York-New Jersey metro area’s major minority business owners at The Expo. Attending The Council’s Business Opportunity Expo is attending New York City’s top conference on outsourcing to minority businesses. Please welcome The Council’s 2013 Business Opportunity Expo co-chairs. This year’s corporate co-chair is Fernando Hernandez, director of Supplier Diversity at Microsoft. The MBE co-chair is Emmett Walker, president and CEO of Walker International Transportation and The Council’s MBEIC chair.
